Black and yellow black bills, large yellow eyes and cryptic plumage. Prominent joints in the long yellow or greenish legs. In Flight, underwing shows black tips of primary but not secondary coverts.

Similar species

Water Thick-knee in flight shows black tips on both primary and secondary coverts.
