Identification
This photo was taken in the Oaxaca province of southern Mexico on 31 Jan 04
Male: bright azure-blue above with green crown, orange breast shading to yellow on the belly. Female: grey-green above with tinges of blue on wings and tail, pale yellow below. Both M and F have yellow eye-ring.

A Mexican endemic, being found only in the southwest - on the Pacific slope from Jalisco south to west Chiapas
