==Distribution==
Larus atlanticus breeds on the coast of Argentina between 39°12' and 45°11'S6. There are eight colonies in the Bahía Blanca estuary and Bahía Anegada, south Buenos Aires, and Bahía Melo and Caleta Malaspina, north of Golfo San Jorge, Chubut. The Bahía Blanca estuary holds a very high proportion of the breeding population. In winter, the species disperses north, reaching Uruguay and Brazil, with late breeding season records south to Santa Cruz and Tierra del Fuego and one inland in Córdoba.
