- Batis margaritae
Alternative names: Boulton's Puffback-Flycatcher, Boulton's Batis
Identification
Length 12 cm.
Male: Grey crown amd mantle; wings black with white wing-bar; chin, throat and belly white; broad black breast band; yellow eye. Similar to male Chinspot Batis but bulkier with broader breast-band; song differs.
Female: Similar to male, but with chestnut wing-bar and red eye. Differs from female Chinspot Batis in having black breast band, lacking the chestnut throat-spot, having a chestnut (not white) wing-bar, and having a red (not gold) eye.

Habitat
Dry evergreen forest and adjacent woodland.
Behaviour
Diet: Mainly arthropods.
Vocalization
A series of five to ten whistles; first note with slightly higher pitch.
