Smaller than Brown Cuckoo-Dove
Distribution
Southeast Asia: found in Indonesia, Greater Sundas, Sumatra, Sulawesi, Lesser Sundas, West Timor, Moluccas, Tanimbar Islands and East Timor.
Taxonomy
Subspecies[1]
There are 4 subspecies:
- M. m. macassariensis:
- South-western Sulawesi, Tanakeke and Salayar islands
- M. m. longa:
- Eastern Lesser Sundas (Tanahjampea and Kalatoa)
- M. m. magna:
- Timor, Wetar and adjacent eastern Lesser Sundas
- M. m. timorlaoensis:
- Tanimbar Islands (Yamdena, Larat and Selaru)
