Identification
Large typical Bradypterus warbler. Long, stiff graduated tail. Rather rufous brown upperparts, tertials and wing coverts with diffuse darker centres. Primary projection very short. Thin white supercillium and thin black eyestripe. Chin and throat white and finely spotted. Breast and belly white in the centre with a light brown wash extending from the flanks. Tail as upperparts but with fine dark barring. Eye dark, bill greyish horn with a dark culmen and distal third of both mandibles. Legs greyish horn with a purple component.
Distribution
Western Africa: Scattered sites in the south east of Cameroon and in central Gabon
Taxonomy
Monotypic.
Has been considered as part of Grauer's Swamp Warbler B. graueri but is much larger.
Habitat
Damp to wet sedge fields in forest clearings/ edges.
