Conothraupis mesoleuca

Identification

16 cm. Male - black, white belly and lower breast, stout white bill. Female - olive brown above, pale olive brown breast, buffy white lower breast and belly, dull olive bill 1.

Rediscovered in 2003 in Mato Grosso, Brazil 1. There is an unconfirmed report of a female from Bolivia.

This is a monotypic species2.

Habitat

Gallery forest, close to water.
