Western and central Africa: Guinea to Sudan, Uganda, Democratic Republic of Congo and Angola.

Taxonomy

Halcyon badia has three subspecies:

  • H. b. badia;
  • H. b. lopezi; and
  • H. b. obscuridorsalis.
