The Mascarene Islands are a group of three larger volcanic islands named Reunion, Mauritius, and Rodriques as well as a number of smaller volcanic remnants. They all are situated in Western Indian Ocean, 400-500 miles northeast from southern Madagascar.

Reunion Island is a Foreign Department of France, Mauritius Island is the Republic of Mauritius, and Rodriques Island is a dependency of Mauritius.
