Identification

Extinct. Status: almost certainly extinct, last record in 1913 altough there was a record of 2 birds in 1965. 43 cm, all black with red eye and orange eye-ring and bill. Looks like H. moquini but has shorter wings and longer bill.

Canary Is (Fuerteventura, Lanzarote, Graciosa)

Food: unknown, but probably similar to that of other oystercatchers
