Identification

70 cm. Black plumage, floppy crest, blue bare skin round eye and on throat, grey brown tail with wide terminal black bar, black feet
Male: red iris, black bill
Female: black iris, white bill.

Distribution

South-east Asia: found in southern Myanmar, Malay Peninsula, Sumatra, Borneo and Penang Island

Habitat

Moist lowland forest.

Behaviour

The diet includes fruit and insects.
