Identification
- Olive-grey or brown upperparts
- Pale grey face and underparts
- Brown flanks
- White eyebrow
- Red-brown iris
- Tail: white-tipped tail with a dark band
Distribution
East coast of Australia: found in New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria.
Taxonomy
Subspecies[1]
There are 3 subspecies:
- G. m. mouki:
- North-eastern Queensland (Cooktown to Paluma Range)
- G. m. amalia:
- Eastern Queensland (Mackay to Bowen)
- G. m. richmondi:
- South-eastern Australia (east-central Queensland to north-eastern Victoria)
Habitat
Thick bushes in mountain and coastal rainforest and mangroves.
Behaviour
Diet
The diet includes insects.
Breeding
The nest is a rounded dome made from roots, plants, moss and spider web. Both parents feed the young.
