Borneo is one of the largest islands in the world, situated in Southeast Asia. It holds still large tracts of tropical lowland and mountain rainforest but logging goes on quickly and big parts of the island are now oil palm plantations.
The sultanate of Brunei takes a small piece of the island. The biggest part belongs to Indonesia and is named Kalimantan. Sarawak and Sabah belong to Malaysia.
