Identification

10-12cm. Fawn wings, underbelly and back, sky blue head, body and longish pointed tail, pink bill, dark iris.

Distribution

Sudan to Somalia and Tanzania in Africa.

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species.

Habitat

Lowland dry grassland, shrubland and desert.

Behaviour

The diet includes seeds and small insects.
