Identification
Distribution
Southern Asia: breeds in southern Tenasserim, peninsular Thailand and Malaysia, Sumatra, Java, Bali and Borneo. Now scarce in Java and Bali.
Taxonomy
Treated as a race of Collared Falconet M. caerulescens by some authors.
Habitat
Forest edge and secondary-growth woodland up to 1,200m, sometimes close to human habitation. Resident.
