Ptilinopus melanospilus

Identification

24cm. Green, yellowish bill and iris. Male - pale grey head, black nape, yellow throat, golden yellow and pink undertail coverts. Female and young - entirely green plumages.

Distribution

Malaysia, the Philippines, Java, Lesser Sunda Islands and Sulawesi.

Taxonomy

There are 5 subspecies.

Habitat

Lowland and hill forests.

Behaviour

The diet includes fruits, figs and berries.

1 white egg is laid.
