Identification

9–9·5 cm (3½-3¾)
Male

  • Black head and upperparts
  • Small white spot behind eye
  • Short white sub-moustachial stripe
  • Black wings

Distribution

South America: found in the humid foothills of south-eastern Peru (Cuzco and Puno).

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species[1].

Habitat

Humid lowland and foothill forests in shrubby growth.
