Enicognathus ferrugineus

Identification

35cm.

  • Mostly green with light barring
  • Some dull red on the forehead and lores, belly, and upper tail.

Distribution

South America: found in Chile, Argentina and Patagonia.

Taxonomy

Subspecies[1]

There are 2 subspecies

  • E. f. minor:
  • Southern Chile ( Colchagua to Aysén) and adjacent Andes of south-western Argentina
  • E. f. ferrugineus:

Habitat

Forests and open woodland, shrubby areas, farmland in mountain foothils.
