Identification
32-37 cm. Green, black facial mask and beak, black trailing flight feathers on wings, long tail edged at the end in blue.
Distribution
Brazil, Paraguay, Bolivia and northern Argentina.

Habitat
Open woodland and savanna. Lowlands.
Behaviour
Diet includes seeds, fruit, palm nuts, berries, flowers and buds.
It nests in holes in trees and lays 3-4 eggs. After raising its young, all birds will form rather large communal roosts until the next breeding season.
