Overview
Important site for breeding Slavonian Grebe.

Notable Species
This is the main UK breeding site for Slavonian (Horned) Grebe, with up to 16 pairs breeding. Red-throated and Black-throated Divers regular visit the loch sometimes breed. Ospreys are daily visitors during summer. Black Grouse can often be seen in the paddock on the opposite side of the loch from the hide. Redstarts and Redpolls breed in the birchwoods. Reed Buntings and Sedge Warblers breed in the reedbed.
Rarities
Smew are occasional visitors in winter.

Access and Facilities
West of the A9 south of Inverness. Take the B851 (near Daviot). Then unclassified road near Croachy.
A small car park and hide, but it is a rough walk.
