Surprisingly productive park right in the middle of Manhattan, the local urbanization funnels many migrant birds through this park each spring and fall. The main area of interest is the Ramble, on the north shore of the Lake within the park, whose wooded area attracts many passerines and many birders. Correspondingly there are several websites that deal with birds seen in the park and neighboring areas: http://www.nycbirdreport.com, http://groups.yahoo.com/ebirdsnyc, http://groups.yahoo.com/btblue are at least three of them.
Best times are late April to late May and late August to early October. Worst times are July, January. Content and images originally posted by philjeffrey
