Distribution

South Indian and south-western Pacific Oceans.
Winters to Arabian Sea, north-western Pacific.
Can be seen off Lord Howe Island, Hauraki Gulf, New Zealand, Brisbane, Australia

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species[1].

Habitat

Almost entirely pelagic.
