Alternative name: Purple-naped Spiderhunter

Hypogramma hypogrammicum

Identification

Distribution

Brunei, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Taxonomy

Hypogramma hypogrammicum is the only species in the genus Hypogramma.

There are 5 subspecies:

  • H. h. hypogrammicum
  • H. h. lisettae
  • H. h. mariae
  • H. h. nuchale
  • H. h. natunense

Placed in genus Arachnothera and called Purple-naped Spiderhunter by Clements.

Habitat

Subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests.
