- Dark olive brown above
- Warm rusty brown below
- Matt grey head
- Indistinct black line below eye
- Dark brown bare skin round eyes

- Bronze brown tail with dark grey terminal band

Subspecies
There are 2 subspecies[1]:
- P. c. brunneiceps:
- South-eastern Philippines (Mindanao and Basilan)
- P. c. cinereiceps:
- Tawitawi (Sulu Archipelago)
brunneiceps is sometimes accepted as full species, Mindanao Brown Dove[2].
Habitat
Mangroves and lowland forests.
