Trichoglossus flavoviridis

Identification

20cm. Green, olive/yellow forehead and crown, brown collar, yellow throat and breast to abdomen, with dark green scalloping, yellow/green flanks to undertail coverts, yellow/green underwing coverts, orange/yellow bill, lores and eye-ring bare and pink/orange, eye orange/yellow.


Distribution

Found on Sulawesi and the Sulu Islands in Indonesia.

Taxonomy

Two subspecies recognized:

  • T.f. flavoviridis on Sulu Islands
  • T.f. meyeri on Sulawesi

Habitat

Montane forests.

Behaviour

The diet includes pollen and nectar.
