Identification

20cm. Glossy black with a deep blue sheen. The upperparts of the females including wings and tail are red brown. The underparts are pale cream white. Facial skin, bill, and legs are blue.

Seychelles.

Taxonomy

Habitat

Forests and marshy areas near water.

Behaviour

It builds a cup shaped nest of plant fibres bound with spiders' web and 1 egg is laid.

The diet includes winged insects and spiders, caught in mid-air or picked from leaves.
