Identification

30-31cm. Bright red, darker red back and wings, red-orange bill, grey skin round eyes, grey legs, black feet.

Distribution

Solomon Islands and Bismarck Archipelago.

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species.

Habitat

Mangroves and lowland forests.

Behaviour

The diet includes fruit.

The eggs are white and are incubated by the female.
