Identification

Length 11-13 cm.

Olive-green with a pale yellow eye-ring and a fairly straight, pale bill. The orange-red pectoral tufts of the male are seldom visible in the field.

Distribution

Coastal West Africa: Southern Guinea to northern Angola.

Taxonomy

This is one of the two Sunbirds that have recently been moved to the genus Deleornis from the genus Anthreptes.

Habitat

Forest.

Behaviour

Gleans leaves for insects; often joins bird parties.
