Identification
20 cm. Rounded head heavily spotted with white, plain mantle and back, barred breast, spotted belly and flanks, pale yellow eyes.
Distribution
Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda.
Taxonomy
Monotypic.
This taxon is considered a subspecies of Glaucidium capense (sensu lato) by some authors.
Habitat
Open montane and transitional forest, with many clearings.
Behaviour
The diet includes invertebrates.
