Distribution
Southeast Asia: Indonesia,
Australasia: Papua New Guinea, Melanesia
Taxonomy
Subspecies
There are 2 subspecies[1]:
- R. a. atra :
- Mountains of New Guinea and Waigeo Island
- R. a. vulpes:
- Northern New Guinea (Cyclops Mountains)
Habitat
Dense undergrowth both inside and at forest edges. Occurs at heights around 1000–2150 m.
Behaviour
Diet
Their diet consists mostly of insects and caterpillars.
