Identification
Chunky, fairly long-tailed manakin. Male is all black, while the female is dark green. Both have characteristic white underwing coverts, which often show as a white fringe around the bend of the wing on perched birds.
Distribution
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species2.
Habitat
Subtropical or tropical moist montane forests.
Behaviour
Quiet and inconspicuous, usually seen feeding on fruit, occasionally loosely associated with mixed flocks.
