Wings and tail dusky with no white. Female has head and upperparts grey-brown, whitish below with mixed rufous feathers. Breast and sides streaked dark grey.

  • Dark slaty-grey hind-crown and upperparts
  • Orange-rufous forecrown, supercilium and underparts
  • White centre of belly
  • Black frontlet, mask and chin
  • Dusky wings and tail

Female; greyish-brown head and upperparts, whitish underparts with mixed rufous feathers. Breast and sides streaked dark grey.

Distribution

South America: found on the Western slope of Andes of Peru (La Libertad to Ica)

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species[1].

Habitat

Low trees of mixed dry woodland with bushy undergrowth.
