- Black
- White belly and lower breast
- Stout white bill
Female:
- Olive brown above
- Pale olive brown breast
- Buffy white lower breast and belly
- Dull olive bill
Distribution
South America: found in south-western Brazil (Goias and Mato Grosso do Sul, redisccovered in 2003)
There is an unconfirmed report of a female from Bolivia.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Habitat
Very waterlogged gallery forest with many palms and bamboos in the understorey.
