Identification:
16 cm
- Brown-olive upperparts
- Rufous crown, wings and tail
- Buff eyebrow
- Dark grey face
- Grey throat
- Dark grey-brown belly.
Similar Species
Rufous-capped Spinetail S. ruficapilla has lighter coloured underparts.
Distribution
Eastern Brazil (interior and southern Bahia and north-eastern Minas Gerais)
Taxonomy
Synallaxis cinerea Wied, 1831. Bahia Spinetail. Synallaxis whitneyi (Pacheco & Gonzaga, 1995) is considered to be a junior synonym of cinerea.

Diet
The diet includes insects.
Vocalisation
Distinctive disyllabic and rather low-pitched song, repeated constantly.
