Overview
The biological station of Cana in the Darien National Park of Panama near the Colombian border would surely rate as one of the best remote birding locations in the world. In a one week visit we saw 275 species on foot from the station including daily observations of four species of macaw.
Climate here is very warm but temporate up on the mountain camp on Cerro Pierre. The view from the camp at Cerro Pierre is unfogetable, miles of uncut tropical forest extending to the horizon at the next mountain range.

Reviews
Frogdoondey's review I've couple times to Cana Valley as a guide, and I can recall of any other places with that many birds and wildlife arround. In the tree right of the rooms we counted 32 species of birds in one morning. I will call it the best birding in Central America.
Pros
- diversity
- trail system
- various ecosystems
Cons
- prices
- no park rangers present
