Identification

White forehead and crown, black body and the two, very elongated (up to 12 cms - 5") central tail feathers. White patch on the rump.

Distribution

Honduras to south-east Brazil

Taxonomy

Polytypic. Consists of five subspecies.

Habitat

Humid forest and secondary woodland

Behaviour

Diet includes insects.

It builds its nest in a hole or cavity in a tree.
