Scytalopus zimmeri

Identification

10·5 cm

  • White throat
  • Brown flanks with dark barring
  • White supercilium

Distribution

South America: found in Chuquisaca and Tarija in the Andes of southern Bolivia.

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species[1].

Habitat

Rocky ravines often in shaded areas of alder and conifer trees.

Behaviour

Terrestrial, preferring to run than to fly.

Diet

Their diets appears to consists of seeds and insects and they may use grit to aid digestion.
