Lamprolia victoriae

Identification

Length 13 cm. Sexually monomorphic. Head, body and wings all deep black with metallic blue or turquoise tips to the feathers of the head, upper breast and lesser and median wing coverts. Rump and long uppertail coverts, which reach almost to the tip of the tail, bright, silky white. Inner tail feathers blue with a black tip, outers all black.

Distribution

Fiji. Common on Taveuni but rare on the Natewa Peninsula on Vanua Levu.
