I have seen at least two sources give this bird the Hawaiian name "kioea".  I'd like to note that "kioea" was also the name of a long-extinct large brown honeyeater.  This may cause people some confusion.  See the "kioea" database entry for more info.

I have seen at least two sources give this bird the Hawaiian name "kioea". I'd like to note that "kioea" was also the name of a long-extinct large brown honeyeater. This may cause people some confusion. See the "kioea" database entry for more info.
