Description

Similar to Connecticut and MacGillivray's Warblers but with

no eye-ring in males

. Head and chest gray with black lores, hevy black mottling on throat and chest. Female: head and chest gray, often with narrow, broken whitish to pale lemon eyering, throat pale gray to pale lemon.

Voice :

Song short and rhythmic with rich, churring quality churree churree churree turi turi; last phrases lower, weaker, shorter. Call a dry, flat, husky pwich. Flight call a clear, high svit.

Range :

Breeds mainly in Northeast North America but also in much of Canada at the same latitude as far west as British Columbia. Winters from southern Central America to Ecuador and Venezuela.
