Turacos are shy highly arboreal fruit-eating birds. <P>This image was taken at Makasutu where a few Violet & a single Green Turaco were found feeding on ripe fruit in a tall Fig tree. Unfortunately the Green Turaco flew off before I could get any pictures however this Violet Turaco hung around long enough for a few images. Sadly the bird was in shade, when seen in sunlight the body colour is an intense deep metallic violet.
