Due to the accidental appearance of the brown tree snake (Boiga irregularis) on Guam between 1945 and 1950, The Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) instigated the MAC programme, which started relocating endemic species to zoos or other snake free islands in the CNMI. A total of 8 species from six islands will be relocated by 2034. Due to the accidental appearance of the brown tree snake (Boiga irregularis) on Guam between 1945 and 1950, The Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) instigated the MAC programme, which started relocating endemic species to zoos or other snake free islands in the CNMI. A total of 8 species from six islands will be relocated by 2034.
