Formerly included within White-rumped Shama.

Subspecies

Clements recognizes two subspecies[1].

  • C. s. stricklandii: Lowlands of northern Borneo, Labuan, Balembangan and Banggi islands
  • C. s. barbouri: Maratua Islands (off northern Borneo)
