- Bluish-purple gloss on black plumage
- White flank spot (generally concealed)
- Brown upper wing and tail
Distribution
Africa: found from Senegambia to northern Democratic Republic of the Congo, southern Sudan and north-western Ethiopia.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Habitat
Rough overgrown cultivation and tall grassland with scattered bushes. Vegetated stream sides.
Behaviour
Diet
They forage on the ground for small grass seeds.
