Identification

22–24 cm

  • Coppery highlights on pale olive upperparts

Distribution

Endemic to the Pacific islands of Polynesia: found in the larger islands in Tuamotu Archipelago (except Makatea)

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species[1].

This taxon is considered a subspecies of Grey-green Fruit Dove (sensu lato) by some authors[2]

Habitat

Low coral atolls in forest and abandoned coconut plantations.

The diet includes insects, fruit and seeds; it is a ground feeder.
