Identification
21 cm
- Green plumage
- Olive-yellow forehead and crown
- Brown collar
- Yellow throat and breast, ith dark green scalloping
- Yellow-green flanks to undertail coverts
- Yellow-green underwing coverts
- Orange-yellow bill
- Pinkish-orange bare lores and eye-ring
- Orangey-yellow eye
Distribution
South-east Asia: found on Sulawesi and the Sulu Islands in Indonesia.
Taxonomy
Subspecies
Two subspecies are recognized[1]:
- T.f. flavoviridis on Sulu Islands
- T.f. meyeri on Sulawesi
Habitat
Both lowland and upper montane forests; sometimes seen in more open areas.
Behaviour
Diet
Their natural diet consists of blossoms, particularly from Erythrina and Euphorbia.
