Overview
The Eden Estuary / Eden Estuary Nature Reserve is located where the River Eden meets the North Sea.
It's a large area, primarily intertidal mud, and sand flats, with a range of uses, especially bird watching. A large number of small plants and animals can also be found here.
The Fife Coast & Countryside Trust has a visitor center at Guardbridge which affords a good spot from which to begin your birding journey. [2]
Birds
Notable Species
The significant food supply here has helped to draw and support many species and large counts of birds.
Some of the noted species include the Black-tailed Godwit, Grey Plover, Shelduck, and Red-breasted Merganser.
With it being adjacent to the North Sea, there is the possibility of seeing species of marine life as well. [2]

Some of the species not as commonly seen in this area[1] include the Long-tailed Duck, Ruff, Eurasian Spoonbill, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Willow Warbler, Mistle Thrush, Stock Dove, Little Gull, Common Raven, and the Coal Tit.
