Identification
12–13 cm (4¾-5 in)
The head is dark with two yellow stripes behind each eye, yellow moustachial stripes and yellow chin and throat. Back dark and rump red.
Distribution
Africa: Coastal West Africa from Senegal and Gambia east to southern Central African Republic and extreme western Uganda, south to northern Angola (Cabinda) and central Democratic Republic of Congo.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Habitat
Forest and secondary growth, including mangroves, clearings and forest edges.
Behaviour
Diet
Their diet consists mostly of fruit, including figs.
Breeding
There is very little information available.
