Taxonomy
Formerly placed in genus Cettia and considered conspecific with Hume's Bush Warbler.
Subspecies
There are two subspecies.1
- H. a. acanthizoides
- Disjunctly in two regions of China: central China (Shannxi south to Yunnan), and in east central China (Anhui to Fujian)
- H. a. concolor
- Mountains of Taiwan

Tall grassy areas and dense bamboo thickets; forests.
