Surprisingly productive park right in the middle of Manhattan, the local urbanization funnels many migrant birds through this park each spring and fall.

The main area of interest is the Ramble, on the north shore of the Lake within the park, whose wooded area attracts many passerines and many birders
The south end of the park by 59th street has a large pond. the north west side of which contains the Hallett Nature Sanctuary.
Further north is Turtle Pond and the Belvedere. This pond is used by many migrating wading birds.
